Microsoft announced some huge news at its Build developers conference earlier this year, revealing that Windows 10 can run reworked Android and iOS apps. While developers were intrigued by the news back in April, Microsoft has kept the tools under wraps until today. In yet another surprise move, Microsoft is open sourcing its key porting tool for iOS to Windows apps. Previously codenamed Project Islandwood, the Windows Bridge for iOS enters preview today and all the source code is available immediately on GitHub.
Microsoft is rolling Windows 10 out in phases, but the company just announced that over 14 million devices are all running its latest operating system. In a blog post, Windows marketing head Yusuf Mehdi says that Microsoft has "many more upgrades to go" before everyone with a reservation gets their copy through. Those who reserved ahead of time will be prioritized.

Microsoft is leveraging the power of babies in its first Windows 10 ads. The company has produced five new ads, each using footage of children from across the globe gurgling, waddling, and gnawing on their feet as a voiceover explains that they will have an easier life because "these kids will grow up with Windows 10."
