The list of music services that won't impact your data plan on T-Mobile is getting much longer today. The carrier has added Google Play Music, Xbox Music, SoundCloud, and 11 other music apps to its Music Freedom initiative. Those three are the big names, but T-Mobile says it's also added listening options for fans of EDM, jazz, Caribbean, and Bollywood-style music. "Today we’re taking another huge step toward our ultimate goal of including every streaming music service in the program," said T-Mobile CEO John Legere. "Anyone can play. No one pays. And everyone wins." Even if companies aren't paying to participate, the net neutrality concerns raised by Music Freedom remain just as valid now as they were when the program was announced in June.
BlackBerry has struggled as of late, but it’s trying hard to lure users over to its latest hardware. The company today announced that it’s offering a ‘trade-up’ program that could save iPhone owners up to $550 on a purchase of a Blackberry Passport.
Today, employees across the Sony Pictures offices were greeted with a strange picture as they tried to login to their computers. Since this afternoon, computers at the company have been completely unresponsive, showing a glowering CGI skeleton, a series of URL addresses, and a threatening message from a hacker group that identifies itself as #GOP. Dozens of Sony Twitter accounts were also commandeered to tweet out similar messages, although Sony seems to have regained control of those accounts. Early reports from Sony employees suggest the studio has yet to regain computer access.
